Position: Manufacturing DW & BI Engineer (Developer III)

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Data Warehouse / BI Developer for a prominent client of ours. This position can be in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC / Hybrid
. Details of the position are as follows:

Job Details:
  • Pay: $61-66.
  • 5-month assignment, possible extension based on budget and performance.
  • The Data Warehouse & BI Engineer supports the manufacturing environment by leading the design, development, and delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions that drive operational visibility and business decision-making. This role is responsible for the full solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture and design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • This is a hands-on role for a technically strong professional who can work across business and technology teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, reliable, and high-value solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in data warehousing, SQL development, ETL, and reporting, along with a passion for building data solutions that support manufacturing operations, improve performance, and enable informed decisions.
  • This position may be based in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid work model or regional proximity preferred.
  • Travel requirement: 0–25%, domestic and international.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and support.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality data warehouse and business intelligence solutions that support manufacturing and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand requirements, define solution approaches, and deliver impactful data and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain T-SQL procedures, functions, queries, and scripts to support data integration, reporting, and analytics needs.
  • Design, build, and support ETL processes for the intake and transformation of data from manufacturing and other enterprise systems.
  • Research, analyze, and troubleshoot data issues, stored procedures, and associated SSRS or Power BI reports.
  • Collaborate with the DBA team to assess server health, database performance, and query optimization opportunities; recommend and implement improvements such as indexing and query tuning.
  • Develop and support data migration procedures and scripts as needed for project and operational initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing evolution of data warehouse architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices.
  • Ensure data warehouse and analytics code is maintained in version control and developed in accordance with SDLC standards.
  • Support operationally critical work and project timelines, including flexibility to work hours needed for global support when required.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft BI technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
  • Strong experience with T-SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Experience developing data warehouse, ETL, and end‑user reporting solutions, including Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools.
  • Experience working within a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Agile project methodologies.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or factory floor systems and processes is a HUGE plus.
  • Familiarity with Camstar or other Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Experience with manufacturing‑related systems such as MES, CMMS, SPC, and OSI PI, including knowledge of their underlying data models.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in data warehousing, business intelligence architecture, and analytics delivery.
  • Experience working with relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Experience using TFS, Git Lab, or similar source control platforms.
  • Understanding of cubes and complex reporting or information models.
  • Clear understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems.
  • Experience supporting analytics or reporting solutions in a regulated or operationally sensitive environment.
