The Enterprise Data Management Team member is responsible for supporting ERP data migration and harmonization initiatives by applying deep expertise in Business Unit (BU) systems, data structures, and operational processes. This role works collaboratively with DT Data SMEs and BU Functional Data SMEs to ensure accurate and timely data mapping, cleansing, and validation, while contributing to the development of harmonized data for enterprise reporting and analytics.
The position also oversees the creation of data‑cleansing metrics and reports and partners with BU data leads to drive business‑level data quality improvements in preparation for upcoming S/4 migrations.
- Data Cleansing & Validation:
Collaborate with BU Functional Data SMEs and BU Data leads to perform data cleansing activities, ensuring all data is prepared for migration according to project timelines. - Data Harmonization:
Support data harmonization across the BU, ensuring that the data is standardized and structured for effective reporting and analytics post-ERP implementation. - Issue Resolution:
Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues during the data extraction, cleansing, and migration phases. - Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback on process improvements related to data management, system integration, and data governance. - Business Rules Validation:
Ensure that business rules applied to the legacy data are correctly translated and reflected in the new S/4 system. - Defect Resolution:
Identify and work to resolve any data issues that arise during the cleansing and migration processes, ensuring that data quality standards are met. - Collaboration with DT Teams:
Work closely with the BU DT Data SME and Data Migration teams to ensure alignment on data requirements, mapping, and quality expectations. - Ongoing Data Management:
Continue to support data accuracy and integrity efforts in the S/4 system post-migration to ensure consistency with business processes and reporting needs.
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future (US. Citizen or Green Card Holder).
- Strong understanding of core modules like MM (Material Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), or FI/CO (Financial/Controlling).
- Strong understanding of SAP data structures, relationships, and source tables that will be part of the ERP migration.
- SAP deployment experience with a clear understanding of object relationships and the ability to anticipate and address potential issues early.
- Experience with SQL (Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server).
- Experience with ABAP programming and debugging.
- Familiarity with Syniti or related data profiling and migration tools.
- Experience with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) configuration and use.
- Experience with SAP PLMSI (PLM System Integration) tool.
