- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
- Administer and support SQL Server high availability solutions, including Failover Cluster Instances (FCIs) and Always On Availability Groups, ensuring maximum uptime and business continuity.
- Perform database backup, recovery, restore, and disaster recovery planning, including routine testing and validation of backup and failover procedures.
- Monitor SQL Server health, performance, capacity, and availability using monitoring tools and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
- Collaborate with VMware, Windows Server, storage, and infrastructure teams to optimize virtual machine sizing, storage configurations (VMDK/RDM), and SQL Server performance in a virtualized environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, query optimization, indexing, and resource bottlenecks while implementing performance tuning best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and document SQL Server standards, maintenance plans, security configurations, and operational procedures while supporting database upgrades, migrations, and production deployments.
