itD is seeking a Security Analyst to support enterprise data protection initiatives by analyzing large-scale security datasets, identifying data risks and anomalies, and driving continuous improvements in the organization's security posture. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in security operations, data analytics, and cloud security, with a proven track record of developing scalable automation and delivering actionable risk insights.
Location: RTP, NC – Remote or Hybrid (Eastern Time Zone preferred)
Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities:- Analyze large, complex datasets across cloud and enterprise environments to identify security risks, anomalies, and trends.
- Conduct SIEM investigations using Splunk or similar platforms, perform detection tuning, and develop dashboards for security monitoring and reporting.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, data pipelines, API integrations, and workflow automation using Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Monitor and analyze cloud security telemetry, including IAM activity, cloud logging, and endpoint telemetry across AWS and other cloud environments.
- Apply security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) to support governance, audit logging, security metrics, and risk reporting.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional security teams to support investigations, strengthen data protection policies, and enhance overall security operations.
- Produce meaningful security metrics and risk indicators that support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
- Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
- Work with leadership on career fast‑track opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in security and data analysis focused on identifying risks or anomalies within large datasets.
- Experience performing SIEM investigations, preferably using Splunk.
- Hands‑on experience with dashboard development, detection tuning, telemetry analysis, and security risk reporting.
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS, including IAM, cloud logging, and endpoint telemetry.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (or similar languages) for data analysis, automation, pipeline development, log normalization, API integrations, and workflow automation.
- Practical experience applying NIST CSF and NIST AI RMF, including audit logging, security metrics, and risk indicators.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CISSP, CCSP, Data Forensics Investigation, or relevant AI security certifications.
- Experience independently developing and enhancing automation scripts and data pipelines.
- Experience with additional cloud platforms such as GCP.
- Experience supporting data protection, data investigations, or enterprise security initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
