Days Pay Range: $35.50 - $53.25
- Ensures availability and readiness of surgical navigational equipment, imaging systems, and accessories,
- Setups and assists in image acquisition through O-Arm, or in retrieving appropriate scans from PACS
- Assists surgical team in planning and room setup of navigation cases
- Ensure images and store points are loaded and accessible,
- Positions equipment for case, registers patient, and operates system (as required)
- Assists with and/or delivers in-service education sessions to equipment users, in assigned clinical units, all shifts.
- Per surgery schedule, ensures availability and readiness of endoscopic/robotic surgery suite video, integration, and teleconferencing systems and accessories,
- Assists surgical team in planning and room setup of endoscopic/robotic video and/or teleconferencing systems, including signal routing to displays, printers, storage devices, and teleconferencing systems
- Positions and prepares systems for case, and operates equipment (as required)
- Assists with and/or delivers in-service education sessions to equipment users, in assigned clinical units, all shifts.
- Performs routine maintenance checks, updates, and back-ups on assigned equipment, per department and manufacturer procedures.
- Functions as system administrator for assigned equipment.
- Provides first-look troubleshooting for assigned equipment. As required, escalates issues to in-house support departments (Clinical Engineering, Information Systems, etc.) and/or vendor. Acts as key Surgical Services contact with external department for open issues
- Coordinates scheduled maintenance or other work performed by outside vendors or in-house support departments.
- As assigned, assists Surgery associates in set-up and operation of other OR equipment (e.g. surgical microscopes, Argon beam, Cusa, Robotic). Maintains a detailed inventory log of broken equipment or out for service. Timely follow-up to Specialty Resource or Clinical Manager or Director for any potential equipment downtime that could cause surgical case cancellation or delays.
- Associate’s degree in electronics, computer or biomedical equipment technology, or equivalent training.
- Five or more years experience supporting a wide diversity of medical equipment and systems used in surgical procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues, including PC-based medical instrumentation.
- An understanding of A/V concepts in order to properly route and troubleshoot video signals.
- Flexible hours according to customer needs with inclusion of calls.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to patient focused care.
- Ability to prioritize independently and respond to multiple simultaneous requests.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with established time constraints and in difficult situations.
- Maybe exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases.
- Ability to transport objects from one location to another.
