Associate Attorney - Workers' Compensation Defense
Location:
Charlotte, NC (Full-Time) Work Structure:

The Opportunity
Our team is representing a prominent and trusted law firm in Charlotte, NC-they are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their established Workers' Compensation practice. This is an ideal role for a litigator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a firm that balances high-stakes defense work with a supportive, collaborative culture.
The firm defends employers across a wide spectrum of industries. You will work alongside seasoned partners while maintaining significant autonomy over your own caseload, managing the litigation process from initial analysis through to final resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Leadership:
Handle a robust caseload, manage critical deadlines, and conduct depositions of parties, medical providers, and expert witnesses. - Courtroom & Mediation Presence:
Represent clients in mediations and argue hearings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. - Strategic Analysis:
Investigate claims, review complex medical records, and develop defense strategies tailored to the client's risk profile. - Client Advocacy:
Draft persuasive motions and briefs; maintain constant communication with insurance adjusters and risk managers to provide case updates and legal analysis.
- Experience:
3-6 years of Workers' Compensation Defense Litigation experience is required. - Bar Admission:
Active license to practice law in North Carolina-in good standing - Skill Set:
Exceptional writing and research skills are a must. Experience with depositions and mediations is highly preferred. - Interpersonal Strength:
Ability to build rapport with a diverse client base and collaborate effectively within a team of dedicated attorneys.
