Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.
Role PurposeServe as the global owner of forecast, capacity, inventory, and delivery coordination for key customers, ensuring alignment between customer demand and Corning’s supply response. This role acts as the central point of coordination across functions and regions to support reliable execution, proactive risk management, and strong service performance.
Scope- Supports global execution for key customers across product families and regions
- Connects demand planning, supply planning, inventory strategy, and delivery performance
- Oversees alignment to forecast, lead time, service, and inventory requirements where applicable
- Own the monthly forecast coordination process and align planning teams to the latest customer demand signal
- Monitor demand changes, supply risks, and capacity constraints, and drive mitigation actions
- Maintain alignment between customer forecasts, purchase orders, supply plans, and inventory strategy
- Monitor lead time and on-time delivery performance and elevate risks early
- Coordinate inventory planning and execution where applicable
- Serve as the primary global point of coordination for planning, execution, and customer‑related supply risks
- Lead regular reviews to provide visibility to performance, risks, and actions across teams
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field with 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, scheduling, or customer‑facing planning roles
- Experience in forecast management, capacity planning, inventory management, and delivery performance
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and reporting/analytics tools
Desired
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP), PMP, or Six Sigma
- Master’s degree or MBA
- Experience supporting global or multi‑region planning processes
- Exposure to AI‑enabled planning, predictive analytics, or digital supply chain tools
The range for this position is $82,207.00 - $ assuming full‑time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
