About Green
“ Global Reach with a personal touch”, that’s the foundation on which four partners (and long-time friends) agreed to when they started Green Worldwide Shipping back in 2008. This ethos has allowed Green to Grow to a 200+ strong team with 15 offices across the US and growing.
At green we are a family of innovative problem-solvers who communicate freely to present creative solutions in an environment of trust, respect, and integrity. We are dedicated to customer service, passionate about logistics, and committed to sustainable growth while inspiring others.
Why this role is specialAs Green Worldwide Shipping expands into pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics, we are seeking an Import & Export Specialist to manage the international movement of pharmaceutical and life-science shipments. This role combines traditional freight-forwarding expertise with a working knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and the special handling that pharmaceutical products demand. You will ensure shipments move compliantly, on time, and within the temperature and quality conditions required to protect product integrity.
Howyou will be successful
- Coordinate end-to-end import and export shipments of pharmaceutical and healthcare products by air, ocean, and road.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate customs and trade documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, import/export licenses, and product-specific permits).
- Ensure shipments comply with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) principles, including maintenance of the cold chain and temperature-controlled handling where required.
- Monitor temperature-sensitive and time-critical shipments, coordinating with carriers, packaging providers, and warehouses to maintain product integrity throughout transit.
- Manage and verify pharma-specific documentation (GDP-compliant transport records, temperature logs, batch and lot information, and chain-of-custody records).
- Liaise with customs brokers, regulatory authorities, airlines, and trucking partners to resolve clearance issues and avoid delays.
- Classify goods using the correct HS and tariff codes, and ensure duties, taxes, and any controlled or restricted-item requirements are handled properly.
- Track shipments, proactively communicate status and exceptions to clients, and elevate temperature excursions or compliance deviations per established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records to support audits, traceability, and regulatory inspections.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pharma logistics SOPs and GDP-aligned processes.
You bring the judgment, discipline, and professional maturity required to manage time-critical pharmaceutical shipments with precision, care, and accountability. In this role, success depends not only on technical execution, but on the ability to anticipate risk, maintain control under pressure, and represent the highest standard of service across every touchpoint.
The ability to stay ahead of operational details while keeping freight moving compliantly and efficiently from booking through delivery.
The confidence to identify issues early, elevate appropriately, and make sound decisions when timing, temperature control, compliance, or product integrity may be at risk.
A polished, dependable presence when working across clients, carriers, brokers, warehouse partners, and internal teams in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
A commitment to excellence in documentation, communication, and follow-through, with the discipline to support audit readiness and operational consistency.
Above all, you bring a strong sense of ownership and the credibility to help build a pharmaceutical logistics operation that clients can trust. You understand that in this environment, reliability, judgment, and consistency are not differentiators, they are the standard. Your approach reflects that standard in the way you execute, communicate, and represent the business every day.
