The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role PurposeThe Manager, Procurement – Contingent Worker role has leadership and strategic responsibility within Corning's Global Supply Management (GSM) Professional Services sourcing organization. This role leads the global sourcing strategy, supplier governance, and program optimization for related spend categories. This position partners across procurement, HR, Legal, Finance and business leaders to deliver maximum value (price, quality, service) from services procured in professional services.
A key owner of setting functional activities and strategies to support industry and supplier research, supplier selection processes, including the establishment of category councils, supplier performance management, negotiation, contingent workforce planning and strategy, and management of Professional Services contracts.
- Strategic Leadership:Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Professional Services procurement, driving value across supplier spend exceeding $100M annually. Oversee contingent workforce planning to ensure flexibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Category Management:Lead all aspects of category management, including supplier market analysis, bid preparation, pricing and term negotiations, supplier selection, and performance management. Collaborate on contingent workforce strategies to balance cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
:
Lead global cross-functional teams to support category management and drive alignment across business units. Provide strategic direction to address supplier challenges and enhance product and market knowledge. - Cost Optimization:Implement programs to deliver savings and process improvements across the supply chain, including Indirect Sourcing spend categories and contingent workforce planning. Drive total cost solutions while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Team Leadership:Build and lead a high-performing team, recruiting and developing talent, setting clear goals, and fostering accountability.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, in a global manufacturing or corporate environment preferred
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Experience managing large-scale sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills to develop long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Experience sourcing professional services and/or contingent workforce categories.
- Experience with supplier performance management, scorecards, and governing processes.
Skills:
- Experience leading global contingent workforce programs or sourcing strategies across multiple regions
- Knowledge of Managed Service Provider (MSP) models and professional services contracting approaches
