Hybrid 3 days on-site in Charlotte, NC
Our client seeks a Sourcing Specialist II to lead strategic sourcing for labor onsite services within the regulated and renewables energy domain. The role requires independent development and execution of sourcing strategies, complex negotiations, supplier relationship management, and post-award supplier oversight. EPC and major utility or power plant experience is highly preferred. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in-person interviews at Duke Energy Plaza and some overnight travel.

Responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing strategies for complex, high-value materials, equipment, and services, including regional and enterprise initiatives.
- Execute strategies by issuing RFQs/RFPs, analyzing supplier responses, and recommending awards.
- Negotiate with supplier and manufacturer leadership, apply contractual terms, and drive cost avoidance and savings.
- Support change management with cross-functional teams to implement sourcing strategies.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships and interfaces with internal partners and external suppliers.
- Oversee post-award activities, including settlements, claims, disputes, POs, agreements, invoice mismatches, price changes, amendments, and change orders.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on commodities, market conditions, supply sources, and diversity opportunities.
- Provide mentorship and cross-training to sourcing personnel.
- Support project managers with strategic sourcing for equipment bid events and PO contracts.
- Manage Alliance Agreements, Master Service Agreements, and category management efforts.
- Travel as needed, including potential overnight trips, with reimbursed expenses.
- 5 to 10 years of supply chain experience with a proven track record in sourcing and negotiating complex, high-value categories.
- EPC experience highly preferred.
- Experience supporting major utility projects, outages, and capital projects preferred.
- Background sourcing labor/services, materials, and engineered equipment for power plants preferred.
- Proficiency with contract negotiation, project and contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on complex projects.
- Business and financial acumen with cost and financial analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of electric utility plant operations and technical understanding of power plant equipment preferred.
- Experience with e-sourcing tools such as Power Advocate and ERP systems such as CAS and Maximo preferred.
- Operational excellence mindset.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Certified Purchasing Manager and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management preferred.
