Sourcing Specialist

Hybrid 3 days on-site in Charlotte, NC

Our client seeks a Sourcing Specialist to lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for complex, high-value categories. The role will develop sourcing strategies, run competitive RFX events, evaluate total cost of ownership, negotiate commercial and legal terms, and execute contracts. The position will partner with cross-functional stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and support regulated projects, including Alliance and Master Service Agreements and category management.

Some travel may be required, including overnight.

Rate: $25.00 to $35.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead sourcing strategies for complex, high-value materials, equipment, and services, including regional and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Plan and execute RFX events, analyze supplier responses, build cost models and total cost of ownership assessments, and recommend awards.
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with supplier management, including cost avoidance and savings through negotiations and process efficiencies.
  • Drive change management with cross-functional teams to implement sourcing strategies.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and maintain effective interfaces with internal partners and external suppliers.
  • Oversee post-award supplier management, including settlements, claims, disputes, PO and agreement maintenance, amendments, and change orders.
  • Monitor commodities, supply markets, diversity opportunities, and market conditions for assigned categories.
  • Mentor and assist sourcing personnel through cross-training and guidance on procurement tasks.
  • Support RRE project managers on equipment bid events and purchase order contracts, and manage Alliance and Master Service Agreements, including category management.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of related supply chain experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience leading moderate to complex competitive sourcing events end to end.
  • Demonstrated ability to create total cost of ownership analyses and cost models.
  • History of negotiating key contract terms, including limitation of liability, indemnification, warranty, insurance, termination rights, performance guarantees, and direct redlining.
  • Experience with large environment procurement and multi-million-dollar contracts.
  • Previous strategic sourcing and contracting experience, including project and contract management.
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools (e.g., Power Advocate) and ERP systems (e.g., CAS, Maximo).
  • Preferred exposure to utilities, outages, capital projects, and power plant operations and equipment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, planning and organizational skills, problem-solving and analytical ability, and written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional stakeholder management and supplier negotiations.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required.

The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
