The primary purpose of the Logistics Manager is to lead enterprise routing execution and fleet logistics, ensuring adherence to company service policies, routing standards, and delivery plans. This role provides daily visibility into actual versus planned routing performance, monitors route productivity and fleet utilization, and serves as the central point of coordination between Operations, Sales, Merchandising, and Procurement regarding delivery and logistics activities.

Through the use of routing technology and performance analytics, the Logistics Manager drives execution discipline, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the enterprise owner of routing execution and performance, ensuring adherence to approved routing strategies, service policies, and customer service standards.
  • Monitor daily routing performance across all operating locations and report actual versus planned results, including route counts, miles, drive time, productivity, fleet utilization, and service policy compliance.
  • Coordinate routing plan updates and execution adjustments resulting from changes in volume, staffing, customer requirements, facility operations, and business priorities.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor enterprise routing KPIs and performance standards, partnering with operating locations to address gaps and improve results.
  • Audit route execution against approved service policies, routing standards, and route plans to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization.
  • Analyze routing, transportation, and fleet performance data to identify opportunities to improve route productivity, fleet utilization, service performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute routing dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting that provide visibility into routing execution and plan attainment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Delivery, Sales, Merchandising, Procurement, and Warehouse regarding routing and logistics activities.
  • Communicate routing performance, service policy compliance, route plan attainment, and operational impacts to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Utilize routing, fleet tracking, and transportation management systems to monitor route execution, support decision making, and improve operational visibility.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for routing and transportation management systems and related technologies.
  • Lead route optimization, transportation analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, productivity, and network performance.
  • Support enterprise reroutes, territory realignments, facility transitions, acquisitions, and other strategic logistics initiatives by validating route design, capacity, and execution readiness.
  • Monitor inbound transportation activity and communicate schedule changes and business impacts to Procurement, Warehouse, Delivery, and Operations teams.
  • Partner with IT, Analytics, and Operations teams to improve the accuracy, effectiveness, and adoption of routing technologies, data, and reporting tools.
  • Obey all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Duties require a broad knowledge of a general technical field such as accounting, finance, economics, industrial management, human resources, supply chain management, marketing, advertising, or business administration, etc. Education acquired in four years of college resulting in a B.A. or B.S. degree or by equivalent on-the-job training.

EXPERIENCE

Over 1 year up to and including 3 years.
