You'll work across Production, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering and Quality in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Execute material planning activities through MRP, translating sales orders, forecasts, production schedules, BOM requirements, inventory levels, supplier lead times, and open supply into material requirements.
  • Issue purchase orders, releases, and supplier schedules based on production requirements and material demand.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with international and domestic suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, obtaining supplier commitments, and resolving delivery issues.
  • Proactively identify and manage material shortages, past-due supply, and other constraints that could impact production schedules.
  • Review MRP exceptions and take appropriate action, including expediting, de-expediting, rescheduling, increasing/reducing quantities, or canceling supply as requirements change.
  • Maintain and communicate material shortage and readiness information to Production Planning, Production Control, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Program Planning and Production Control to ensure material availability and production readiness in support of manufacturing schedules.
  • Manage and share material forecasts with suppliers based on sales orders, production schedules, forecasted demand, and historical consumption.
  • Continuously optimize inventory levels and material-planning metrics, including stock levels, material availability, days of supply, inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory, and past-due purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier acknowledgments, delivery commitments, and performance against required dates, escalating risks when supplier performance may impact production.
  • Support the material impacts of engineering changes, BOM revisions, component substitutions, new product introductions, and material phase-in/phase-out activities.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and Production to resolve material issues related to rejected material, scrap, inventory discrepancies, substitutions, or other supply disruptions.
  • Identify potential excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory and initiate actions to minimize inventory exposure while maintaining production continuity.
  • Support accurate ERP/MRP master data by identifying issues related to lead times, order quantities, safety stock, planning parameters, and material availability.
  • Manage urgent material issues and production-related supply emergencies, ensuring timely escalation to the appropriate departments and managers locally and globally
