All about the role:The Senior Manager, International Transportation will lead North America inbound and international transportation strategy, optimizing global logistics networks, freight procurement, carrier performance, cost efficiency, supply chain resiliency, and end-to-end delivery execution while driving operational excellence and strategic business alignment.
Where you'll be:This position is located in the HQ office, Charlotte NC.
What you'll do:- Lead all North American inbound and international transportation operations, ensuring service excellence, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery across domestic and global networks.
- Develop and execute ocean and air freight strategies, including carrier negotiations, capacity planning, trade lane optimization, and freight procurement.
- Manage a $225M transportation budget, oversee 60+ logistics providers, and lead internal logistics teams and 3PL operations.
- Direct the movement of approximately 100,000 TEUs annually across FCL, LCL, air freight, expedited, cross-border, and domestic transportation modes.
- Design and optimize resilient, sustainable, and cost-effective global freight networks while mitigating geopolitical, market, and supply chain risks.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Product Management, Trade Compliance, and Planning teams to align transportation strategy with business demand and growth objectives.
- Serve as the global logistics subject matter expert, supporting make-versus-buy decisions, total delivered cost modeling, and new product introductions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service, visibility, sustainability, operational efficiency, and transportation cost savings.
- Establish and monitor KPIs across service, quality, sustainability, cost, and operational performance while advancing digital supply chain visibility solutions.
- Develop high-performing teams and foster a culture of safety, integrity, diversity, collaboration, and customer-centric innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, including oversight of inbound and outbound operations and direct people leadership.
- Demonstrated expertise in transportation procurement, carrier sourcing, contract negotiations, and management of 3PL/4PL partnerships.
- Proven success managing large-scale transportation budgets, complex logistics networks, and operational performance.
- Strong knowledge of transportation markets, carrier operations, and transportation economics, with the ability to drive cost, service, and efficiency improvements.
- Master's degree in business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; APICS, CSCMP, Six Sigma, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Experience with in consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, or distribution environments, with proficiency in TMS, analytics platforms, and transportation optimization tools, preferred.
