Job Purpose:

This role requires an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and continuously improve the day-to-day performance of Factory Supply’s U.S. operations. The role is responsible for translating business priorities into reliable execution across order fulfillment, inventory control, procurement, supplier coordination, customer service support, warehousing, systems usage, KPI management, and process improvement. The Operations Manager will focus on operational efficiency, service levels, cost control, workflow discipline, team accountability, and continuous improvement while supporting profitable growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial distribution, safety products, fall protection, construction safety, or related industrial sectors, with a proven ability to manage cross-functional operations, strengthen supplier and internal partnerships, and build scalable processes that improve quality, delivery, accuracy, and responsiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Operational Leadership & Execution
  • Oversee daily U.S. operational activities to ensure orders, inventory, purchasing, warehousing, and customer support processes run efficiently and accurately.
  • Translate business objectives into clear operating priorities, action plans, work standards, and measurable results.
  • Monitor operational workload, staffing needs, resource allocation, and process flow to reduce delays, errors, cost, and rework.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify service, productivity, margin, and cost improvement opportunities.
  • Provide regular operational performance updates, issue summaries, and improvement recommendations to leadership.
Team Coordination & Accountability
  • Coordinate cross-functional work across Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Administration.
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, handoffs, and follow-up routines across departments.
  • Coach employees and department leads on process discipline, communication, issue resolution, and performance ownership.
  • Foster a culture focused on customer service, safety, teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and measurable results.
Process Improvement & Change Management
  • Lead operational improvement initiatives that increase productivity, accuracy, service levels, and scalability.
  • Document, standardize, and continuously improve core workflows, procedures, controls, and reporting routines.
  • Support adoption of new systems, technologies, process automations, and operational best practices.
  • Align teams around company priorities, operating standards, and performance expectations.
Customer Service & Internal Support
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure operational processes support customer retention, order accuracy, responsiveness, and service commitments.
  • Monitor customer service issues, order delays, fulfillment gaps, and recurring process breakdowns.
  • Support key account initiatives by ensuring internal teams provide timely, accurate, and coordinated operational support.
  • Ensure effective CRM and ERP usage to maintain visibility into customer needs, order status, and operational follow-through.
Procurement, Supplier Coordination & Supply Chain Support
  • Coordinate sourcing, purchasing, and supplier follow-up activities across key product categories.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, improved lead times, and stronger service levels.
  • Support supplier negotiations, pricing reviews, agreement compliance, and annual savings initiatives.
  • Develop alternative source-of-supply plans to reduce risk and improve availability of critical products.
  • Maintain supplier performance visibility through scorecards focused on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
Inventory Management, Fulfillment & Operational Controls
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory controls, cycle count routines, purchasing controls, and replenishment practices.
  • Establish, review, and optimize Min/Max inventory levels based on demand, lead time, service expectations, and working capital goals.
