CARRIER SALES REPRESENTATIVE About ISM Global LogisticsISM Global Logistics is a freight brokerage built around dependable capacity and hands-on account management. We move freight across our standard flatbed book and our TILT division, which handles Landoll and tiltbed equipment for oversized and specialized loads. Our team pairs experienced people with sharp operational tools, so reps spend their time on relationships and problem-solving — not busywork.
About the RoleAs a Carrier Sales Representative, you'll own the carrier side of the load: sourcing capacity, negotiating rates, and keeping freight moving from pickup to delivery. You'll work daily with our carrier network — building the kind of relationships that get you a truck when capacity is tight — while coordinating closely with our account managers to keep every shipment on track.
WhatYou'll Do
- Source and secure reliable carrier capacity for flatbed, hotshot and tiltbed (Landoll) freight, matching the right equipment to the right load
- Negotiate rates with carriers that protect margin while keeping ISM competitive and carriers coming back
- Build and maintain an active carrier database, including cold-calling and onboarding new carriers to expand available capacity
- Track shipments in transit, proactively communicating with carriers and internal teams on ETAs, delays, and exceptions
- Resolve day-of issues — missed pickups, equipment problems, detention, claims — quickly and professionally
- Log and manage loads, carrier information, and rate history accurately in our TMS
- Partner with load reps and account managers to understand customer requirements and prioritize coverage
- Stay current on market rates, capacity trends, and lane conditions to negotiate from a position of knowledge
- 1+ years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or truckload logistics (flatbed/heavy-haul or drayage experience a plus)
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills — you're comfortable on the phone and quick on your feet
- Working knowledge of TMS platforms
- Ability to manage multiple loads and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Clear, professional communication with carriers, customers, and internal teams
- A problem-solver's mindset — you stay calm and resourceful when a load hits a snag
- Experience with specialized/oversized equipment (Landoll, tiltbed, RGN, step deck)
- Familiarity with flatbed securement and hazmat/tanker regulations
- A book of existing carrier relationships in flatbed or specialized freight
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 2+ weeks paid time off
- A team that invests in the tools and data reps need to win — not just a phone and a login
