KETTLER is offering a Maintenance Technician position that involves general maintenance, repairs in apartments and buildings, and response to service requests from residents. The role is under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities- Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
- Respond to resident requests for maintenance and service within HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair by troubleshooting, repairing, and restoring service within quality and time standards; escalates problems to supervisor or outside contractor as necessary.
- Participate in all maintenance projects.
- Prepare vacant units for market-ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all systems at the property.
- Perform general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
- Demonstrate customer service skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, responding sensitively to complaints and completing assigned work orders with efficiency and urgency.
- Work full-time Monday through Friday 8am-5pm; subject to weekend hours for on-call weeks Saturday and Sunday 10am-12pm; other on-call weeks as needed for emergency calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
- EPA/CFC Type I & II certifications preferred – must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
- 1 year of apartment, hotel, or facilities maintenance experience with intermediate knowledge of HVAC, appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
- Valid Driver’s License and must live within 30 minutes of the property.
- Outstanding customer service and focus on providing residents with timely and accurate responses.
- Responsible for after-hour emergency maintenance calls nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
- Have personal/reliable transportation to respond to on-call emergencies.
- Carry a cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
- Ability to use a computer.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 ft., and perform other general physical activities.
