Job SummaryResponsible for maintaining the operational condition of Podzilla equipment at all Storage Centers within a designated territory. Ensure all preventive maintenance, documentation of work via Work Orders, and assist with forklift preventive maintenance, structural welding repairs, or training if qualified. Assist in ensuring a safe and clean working environment, inside and out, for the assigned territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repair on the patented hydraulic lift system (Podzilla), including small engine troubleshooting, 12V electrical diagnostics, light tack welding, metal grinding, and cutting as required.
- Complete and maintain records on repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance using the Work Order System, providing updates to management as needed.
- Perform structural repairs on flatbed trucks or Podzillas if certified.
- Provide training to new technicians if certified as a PODS Train the Trainer.
- Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts if qualified.
- Order parts from internal and external sources when required.
- Maintain all PODS-owned repair tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Offer training to drivers on proper lift system usage to reduce unnecessary repairs.
- Travel flexibly between storage centers within the assigned territory.
- Repair damaged containers to PODS standards and perform light carpentry work, constituting less than 20% of time.
The role typically reports to management, with direct supervisor titles including Market Manager or Territory Manager. This position is not directly responsible for hiring, terminating, or performance management of other employees, though it may manage temporary staff during peak periods.
Job Qualifications- 3–5 years of engine repair experience (forklift, hydraulic systems, vehicle maintenance, small engine repair).
- Experienced mechanic with an AWS Structural Steel Welding Certificate (AWS D1.1) and/or mechanical certification(s) or diploma equivalent.
- Certified as a PODS Trainer for Podzilla repairs.
- Forklift repair experience (4+ years) or a Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) certificate.
- ASE Automotive certification accepted.
- Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Light/medium carpentry skills.
- Prior supervisory or team‑leader experience; warehouse experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
