POSITION SUMMARY

A & Associates is seeking dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious General Laborers for potential employment opportunities supporting waste management and facility operations in the Charlotte, NC area.

This position involves a variety of hands-on responsibilities that may include assisting with waste and recycling collection, supporting landfill operations, performing general facility maintenance, and assisting with daily activities at scale house or waste processing facilities.

The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable of performing outdoor labor, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace.

Specific assignments will be determined based on operational needs, qualifications, and availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may vary depending on assignment and may include:

Waste Collection & Sanitation Support

• Assist with the collection and disposal of residential and commercial waste, recyclable materials, and other designated items.
• Work alongside collection vehicle operators to safely load and unload waste materials.
• Handle waste containers, carts, and other collection equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness around collection areas and equipment.
• Follow established traffic, vehicle, and workplace safety procedures.

Landfill & Facility Operations

• Perform general labor duties at landfills, transfer stations, and other waste management facilities.
• Assist with sorting, moving, and organizing materials as directed.
• Remove litter, debris, and other materials from designated work areas.
• Support general site cleanup, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance activities.
• Assist with maintaining safe and orderly work environments.

Scalehouse & Operational Support

• Assist with basic scalehouse activities, including directing vehicles to designated areas.
• Support the recording and verification of vehicle and material information as assigned.
• Maintain basic logs, records, and operational documentation.
• Provide general assistance to facility personnel and visitors.
• Perform other operational and administrative support duties as assigned.

General Responsibilities

• Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and supervisor instructions.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and workplace incidents promptly.
• Maintain regular attendance and arrive prepared for assigned shifts.
• Perform additional general labor duties as needed to support daily operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependable transportation to and from assigned work locations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and around waste management equipment.
• Ability to comply with required background screening and drug testing.
• Previous experience in general labor, sanitation, warehouse operations, landscaping, construction, or related fields is preferred but not required.
