The Superintendent - Nuclear Reactor Maintenance Corporate provides fleet and site-level corporate oversight and ensures fleet-aligned governance is met for reactor maintenance at all sites. This role is responsible for corporate oversight for safe and effective planning, preparation, and execution of reactor head disassembly/reassembly, fuel handling, refueling outage activities, and dry cask storage operations performed at all sites for the fleet.

The Superintendent ensures alignment with corporate governance expectations, and partners with station Maintenance leadership to maintain nuclear safety, equipment reliability, industrial safety, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures barriers to fleet level efficient work are identified and removed while maintaining engagement with the sites to ensure strong performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Governance & Program Oversight

* Provide corporate oversight for consistent implementation of fleet reactor maintenance programs, standards, and governance expectations across all sites.

* Engage with fleet governance bodies, regulatory stakeholders, and corporate leadership to ensure program alignment and compliance.

* Support fleet-level Reactor Maintenance training program providing corporate oversight to ensure support is provided to maintain technician qualifications and depth.

* Monitor fleet Reactor Maintenance performance, identify gaps, and ensure site and fleet level corrective and long-range improvement actions.

Site Leadership & Operations

* Engage frequently with site leadership and oversight of the Reactor Maintenance organization.

* Partner with site leadership and provide corporate oversight of emergent issues, decision-making and vendor support for performance and operational needs.

* Reinforce fleet level human performance tools and required fleet behaviors (CORE 4, Keys to Life).

* Support Maintenance Department leadership and reinforce broader fleet level cross-discipline engagement.

Outage & Project Execution

* Monitor and provide corporate oversight of site level engagement to manage critical-path reactor maintenance activities during refueling outages, coordinating closely with the Outage Command Center (OCC).

* Monitor and provide corporate oversight of site level outage preparation including PMs, equipment refurbishment, tool and equipment readiness, and resource coordination.

* Monitor and provide corporate oversight of and participation in readiness reviews, health reports, benchmarking, INPO evaluations, and self-assessments.

Fuel Handling & Dry Cask Operations

* Monitor and provide corporate oversight of fuel movement activities, spent fuel pool management, and fuel handling equipment readiness.

* Monitor and provide corporate oversight of dry cask storage campaigns, including personnel readiness, training, and procedural compliance.

* Ensure regulatory and procedural adherence to all nuclear fuel-related work.

Safety, Human Performance & Environmental Compliance

* Champion nuclear safety, industrial safety, radiological protection, and environmental stewardship.

* Conduct site level field observations, promote safe work practices, and enforce procedural adherence.

* Ensure that station safety and environmental objectives are met and sustained.

Cross-Functional & External Interface

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with site leadership, internal departments, fleet organizations, suppliers, and alliance partners.

Basic Qualifications

* Associate's degree in engineering, technical, or science field and 3 years of related experience; OR

* High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technical field, or 13 years related experience.

* 3+ years of supervisory experience.

* Reactor head disassembly/reassembly/inspection experience.

* Power plant maintenance or operations experience (nuclear preferred).

* Previous SRO license or SRO certification.

* Demonstrated leadership ability, including influence without authority.

* Experience managing multiple complex projects.

* Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.

* Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute work to deliver results.

* Adaptability to changing processes, regulations, and work environments.
