Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, The Executive Director of Facilities is accountable for and has leadership and management oversight of the functional and aesthetic maintenance and upkeep of campus facilities and plant operations. The scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to: administrative and academic buildings; residence halls; mechanical/electrical equipment and systems; infrastructure; landscape/grounds; custodial services; the University’s food service contractor, transportation equipment;

and related capital and non-capital projects as may be needed to advance the mission of the University. The Executive Director is a strategic campus leader with outstanding collaboration and communication skills, who will develop a culture of process improvement, customer service, transparency and accountability. This position reports to the Vice President for Operational Excellence and Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, construction management or related field supplemented by seven to ten years of related experience, some of which has been in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. The Executive Director must communicate effectively and demonstrate pro-active leadership. Must have the ability to develop and implement short and long-term goals to provide quality facilities that are functional, appealing, and cost effective to operate is also required.

Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and commitments concurrently and effectively. Ability to be flexible and adjust to new projects, teams, environments and challenges.
