Job Description & How to Apply Below

PEAK Risk Advisors is a commercial insurance advisory firm built to align risk management with investment strategy.

We specialize in complex, asset-based accounts including real estate portfolios, private equity-backed businesses, and operationally complex companies. We were founded in underwriting discipline, execution clarity, and long-term carrier relationships. We believe risk should be managed with the same rigor and transparency as capital. As we grow, we are formalizing the execution standards that define our platform.

Role Overview

PEAK Risk Advisors is hiring a Director of Operations & Risk Execution to lead execution quality, underwriting readiness, and renewal strategy across complex commercial accounts.

This role serves as the final internal authority on submission readiness and execution standards and serves as a senior internal resource for underwriting and renewal strategy decisions. It ensures that business entering the market reflects Peak's discipline, clarity, and credibility.

This is not a sales role.

This role ensures:

  • Reduced internal rework and escalation
Core Responsibilities
  • Execution Authority & Quality Control:
Final review and approval of submissions before market; ensure underwriting completeness, accuracy, and strategic framing; improve submission clarity and positioning; delay market activity when standards are not met; maintain consistent execution discipline across teams.
  • You are the final checkpoint before carriers receive business.
  • Lead renewal execution for complex and asset-based accounts; anticipate underwriting challenges 90–120 days in advance; drive proactive data collection, valuation review, and loss analysis; guide renewal strategy across real estate portfolios and operating businesses; reduce last-minute escalations and reactive placements.
  • Renewals should be predictable, structured, and well-prepared.
  • Senior Technical Resource:
Serve as the internal authority for complex underwriting and market strategy questions; provide guidance to producers and client executives on positioning and structure; reduce leadership involvement in routine execution decisions and client-facing calls; elevate overall underwriting literacy across the firm.
  • This role strengthens producer effectiveness through clarity and preparation.
  • Producer Support & Accountability:
Set clear execution expectations across the team; provide direct feedback on submission quality and preparation; improve close rates through stronger underwriting strategy; protect the firm from rushed or poorly framed placements.
  • The objective is improved performance - not bureaucracy.
  • Systems & Operational Structure:
Develop and maintain execution checklists, workflows, and SOPs; identify recurring gaps and resolve them structurally; embed consistent standards into day-to-day operations; support disciplined expansion into new markets.
Qualifications
  • 5–15+ years of commercial P&C experience
  • Deep underwriting literacy across property and casualty
  • Experience leading renewals independently on complex accounts
  • Comfortable holding experienced producers accountable
  • Strong judgment, structured thinking, and calm decision-making
  • Low ego, high standards, and team-oriented mindset
  • Experience with real estate portfolios or asset-based risks preferred

You must be comfortable owning final decisions on execution readiness.

Success Metrics (First 6–12 Months)
  • Leadership is no longer involved in routine submission reviews
  • Underwriters experience increased clarity and consistency
  • Renewals are proactive and predictable
  • Producers operate within defined standards with minimal correction
Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and authority
  • Performance Bonus:
Based on execution quality, retention, and underwriting outcomes
  • Equity:
    Long-term ownership opportunity
  • Flexible & Hybrid Work Locations
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Employer Match
  • Flexible PTO & Paid Holidays
  • Maternity & Paternity Leave
  • Life Insurance & Disability Coverage
  • Quarterly Social Events
  • Opportunity to help build a disciplined, growth-oriented insurance platform
Reporting & Decision Making
  • Reports directly to the Founder & CEO
  • Holds decision rights over execution readiness and submission timing
  • Serves as Peak's internal execution leader and external credibility steward

We are building a disciplined, producer-driven insurance platform. If you are energized by complex risk, structured execution, and building standards that scale, this could be the right opportunity for you.
