Job Title: Design Construction Manager | Owner’s Design Representative
Location: Charlotte, NC
The company: A leading engineering and consulting firm is hiring a Design Construction Manager to act as the Owner’s Design Representative on some of the most complex mission‑critical and data‑center projects in the U.S.
This role sits where design strategy, construction execution, and owner advocacy intersect. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, influence high‑stakes decisions, and ensure projects deliver on schedule, budget, quality, and uptime— with the autonomy and authority to make it happen.

The position:
- Serve as the single point of coordination between owner, designers, contractors, and vendors
- Drive design progression, reviews, bulletins, and issue resolution
- Manage design‑phase budget, schedule, risk, and change
- Oversee construction administration: RFIs, submittals, quality, and closeout
- Deliver clear weekly executive reporting (schedule, cost, risks, KPIs)
- Build long‑term client trust as a strategic extension of the owner’s team
Could this role be for you?
- Strong experience with electrical, mechanical, and controls systems in mission‑critical environments
- Deep understanding of MOPs, live‑environment risk, and operational continuity
- Ability to represent the owner directly with confidence and credibility
- Proficiency with Procore and modern construction tools
- Organized, decisive, and comfortable operating independently
- Forward‑thinking mindset, including use of AI and emerging technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- OR hands‑on mission‑critical infrastructure experience
- 5+ years additional relevant experience in complex or mission‑critical construction
- Based in or relocating to Charlotte, NC
