Position Summary

As a Mission Critical General Superintendent you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising personnel as well as activities concerning the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components of multiple projects. The General Superintendent will work with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, Safety, BIM, Pre‑Fabrication, QA/QC departments to ensure Adams Electric standards and processes are fulfilled on each project, evaluate temporary employees for status with the company, and supervise the electrical work in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines in coordination with other trades to ensure compliance with the overall project schedule and contract documents.

Training

and Development
  • Assist Field Operation Managers with review process for both Adams employees and associates.
Scheduling
  • Oversight and responsibility for creating and maintaining schedule related to current projects, including organization of current crews and manpower projections throughout the project.
  • Work with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers to develop field organization chart for the project.
  • Update schedule and manpower projection weekly.
  • Set and track measurable production goals on project for individuals and crews.
Material Management / Jobsite Logistic
  • Oversight for creating and maintaining material management and logistics plan related to current projects, including determining material needs, ordering, receiving and organizing material.
  • Develop materials management and jobsite logistic plan prior to the project starting.
  • Implement and adjust plan throughout the course of the job in coordination with Vendor Partners.
Safety
  • Oversight for creating and maintaining Safety plan related to current projects, including daily reports, PPE management and accident management.
  • Work with Onsite Safety Managers to develop safety plan specific to the project.
  • Ensure project adheres to both the project‑specific safety plan and Adams Electric company standards.
Quality Control
  • Oversight for creating and maintaining QA/QC plan related to current projects, including specification and code compliance, internal punch list management, general contractor punch list management and owner/design team punch list management.
  • Work with Onsite QA/QC Manager to develop QA/QC plan for a project.
  • Ensure project adheres to the QA/QC plan and company standards, testing and documentation.
BIM / Design
  • Lead layout efforts for BIM prior to the project along with assistance from foreman.
  • Review drawings throughout process to ensure quality control.
  • Work with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, BIM Manager on development of BIM schedule.
  • Ensure drawings are delivered and reviewed prior to pre‑fabrication and onsite installation dates.
Pre‑Fabrication
  • Oversight for creating and maintaining pre‑fabrication plan related to current projects, including determining appropriate assemblies, ensuring they meet specifications and managing delivery and installation schedules.
  • Work with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, Prefab Foremen, BIM Manager on development of pre‑fabrication plan schedule to ensure drawings are delivered and reviewed prior to pre‑fabrication date.
Position Qualifications Education, Training and Certifications
  • 10+ years experience as a Superintendent and/or General Superintendent.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent on a Mission Critical Project.
Working Conditions
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots).
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture and wind.
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process.
