This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Manufacturing Center Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The facility is planned to be built by early 2026 for production commencement.
Job OverviewAs we continue to grow and push the boundaries of what's possible, we are seeking a Winding Assembler with a passion for excellence and innovation in medium to large power transformer manufacturing. Responsibilities- Perform finishing and assembly of transformer winding blocks, operate overhead cranes and forklifts, and conduct welding when needed.
- Read technical drawings, validate winding alignment within tolerances, and perform measurements and inspections to meet technical standards.
- Prepare winding blocks for drying and pressing and support the development and maintenance of technical documentation for winding assembly procedures.
- Train and mentor new hires into the department.
- Plan and review tasks according to the pre‑established production plan and manufacturing standards.
- Fulfill and/or support fulfillment of all protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies from current systems (EHS, QA, Cyber Sec, etc.).
- High school degree or equivalent with relevant technical training/experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in the winding block assembly process for medium to large transformers.
- Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform complex measurements.
- Must be able to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community college.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Forklift License and a Critical Lift level crane license and certification for working in heights.
- Must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
- Must read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
- Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico, Brazil or Germany for on‑the‑job training for a period of 3 months based on proficiency in the area of training, with appropriate relocation support and compensation provided.
