Material Handler Driver

Job Overview

The Material Handler under general supervision, distributes either production or non-production items and materials to various locations throughout the warehouse. Materials may consist of purchased parts, in process parts, or finished goods.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Shift: 5:30am-1:00pm (Monday-Friday)

• Move parts or finished product and delivers mail packages to various department locations and/or warehouse locations using an RF scanner.
• Maintain the required paperwork and documentation of all parts and materials moved in accordance with the specified procedures.
• Ensure safe operating process for all equipment within Charlotte DLC.
• Ensure work areas and other designated work areas are maintained in a safe and neat manner.
• Assist with the training and instruction of new employees who may be assigned to this area.
• Retrieve and count product to fulfill customer orders
• Stocking and arranging of product to ensure warehouse turns of inventory.
• Responsible for supporting the Distribution process by receiving and transporting components to the floor in accordance with predetermined safety, quality, method and sequence standards.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Previous experience in a distribution center is desired but not required. Willing to train.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented distribution center environment.
• Required to work independently and with limited supervision.
• Must have the ability to make decisions.
• Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of inventory processes
• Previous Material Handling experience (cherry/reach lift experience preferred)
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to follow through on commitments and details.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven team player.

• Standing and/or walking for entire shift and ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Bending and/or stooping repeatedly throughout shift
• Lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
• Be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment

• This position will be based onsite
