Process Manufacturing Technician (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Charlotte, NC
Pay Rate: $22.75 per hour (Temp-to-Perm)
Shift: 4x10 Night Shift (Monday – Thursday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
Training RequirementMust train on 1st Shift (5:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Thursday) for 2–3 months.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Process Manufacturing Technician to support advanced, automated manufacturing operations within a multi-phase production environment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring complex manufacturing equipment used throughout multiple phases of transition manufacturing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while supporting team objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain manual machines, including mills, grit blasting equipment, rollers, and related machinery.
- Operate basic production equipment such as furnaces, airflow stands, and spot welders.
- Perform material and product movement using fork trucks, cranes, and hand trucks.
- Safely operate air tools, including grinders and air hammers.
- Understand and apply proper metal removal techniques to ensure parts can be reused.
- Use basic inspection and measurement tools, including micrometers, pie tape, and depth gauges.
- Change and manage blast/coating media, including 50‑gallon barrels.
- Work indoors and outdoors as required by production needs.
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and respirator use when required.
- Ability to pass a hands‑on assessment demonstrating mechanical aptitude and hand skills.
- Experience operating manual machines (mills, grit blasting, etc.).
- Willingness to obtain and maintain fork truck and crane licenses.
- Experience operating air‑powered tools (grinders, air hammers, polymer dispensers).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Capable of working in industrial environments, including outdoor conditions.
- Able to be fitted for and wear a respirator if required.
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
- 2–4 years of experience in advanced manufacturing or process‑driven production environments.
- 2–3 years of applied trades training preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
- Working knowledge of metrology, close‑tolerance measurements, and visual weld inspection.
- Understanding of basic electrical schematics.
- Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Solid shop math skills, including measurement conversions.
- Computer literacy required (data collection and manufacturing systems).
- Ability to work independently using sound judgment, initiative, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to obtain forklift, crane operator, and LPI certifications.
- U.S. or Canadian citizenship required.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent lifting of 5–25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- Manual dexterity required for CNC and manual equipment operation.
- Work performed in a production environment with exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals, lasers, fumes, and solvents.
- Must have normal or corrected vision and hearing.
- Strict adherence to PPE requirements, including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
