Position Summary & Description
The Color Matching Technician supports laboratory operations by developing, testing, and refining color formulations for customer applications. This role requires a highly trained eye for color variation, strong pigment and resin knowledge, and a technical foundation in chemistry or polymer science. The technician will work closely with lab leadership to ensure accurate color development, consistent formulation performance, and timely sample preparation in support of production scale-up.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Match customer-submitted color samples using pigments, additives, and various resin systems
- Utilize color measurement tools such as spectrophotometers and Pantone standards to ensure precision
- Prepare, process, and test laboratory sample batches prior to production scale-up
- Adjust formulations based on resin compatibility, performance requirements, and customer specifications
- Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, testing results, and lab procedures
- Strong ability to distinguish fine color variations and maintain visual precision
- Solid understanding of pigment chemistry and polymer compatibility
- Proficiency with color measurement equipment and laboratory testing processes
- Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related technical field preferred
- 5–7 years of experience in color matching or pigment formulation strongly preferred
- Experience with in plastics, coatings, inks, or textile color applications acceptable
- Ability to work accurately under deadline-driven production schedules
