Our Configuration Techs are instrumental supporting our Installation teams and subcontractors in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.
Responsibilities- Assist teams of installers in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systems.
- Basic understanding of configuration standards and best practices for current systems and methods
- Develop and learn basics of mechanical systems that are in the buildings we serve.
- Diagnose and repair controls systems malfunctions using laptop and appropriate software.
- Understand Cyber Security basics for commercial building networks
- Conduct basic building control system installation, configuration, testing, and repair.
- Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours if necessary.
- Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.
- 0-1 year of experience with building automation systems, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer science, networking, AV/Data, OR equivalent
- Working knowledge of basic electronics, programming, and systems design.
- Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e‑mail, web-enabled applications, and database software.
- High School diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent certification (CompTIA Network+, Niagara N4 certification, Distech Eclypse certification, etc.)
- Computer networking experience
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawings.
- Ability to manage professional e‑mail communications
- Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems
- Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always.
- Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness
- Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others
- Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
