Senior Director, Technical Services (North America – Protective)
Sealed Air is a global packaging solutions provider. The Senior Director, Technical Services leads a nationwide organization of field-based technical service professionals and is accountable for customer equipment performance, service quality, technical capability, and commercial enablement across Sealed Air’s packaging and equipment systems.
Organizational Scope & Impact- Leads multiple teams and/or managers responsible for customer‑facing technical support, installations, start‑ups, preventive maintenance enablement, troubleshooting, and training.
- Owns national service outcomes and serves as the senior escalation point for complex customer issues.
- Partners with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and HR to align technical service strategy with business priorities.
- Influences job architecture, capability models, and workforce strategy for technical sales support roles.
- Define and execute technical service strategy aligned to growth and customer retention.
- Own equipment uptime, service responsiveness, and installation quality.
- Standardize service delivery, governance, and performance management, and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as senior interface between Technical Services, Sales, and Engineering.
- Ensure service is provided efficiently with clear performance metrics (quality, overtime, inventory levels, time to resolution).
- Develop managers, build succession, and scale technical capability.
- Senior leadership experience in technical services or field service organizations.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems knowledge.
- Proven experience leading leaders and distributed field teams.
- Ability to travel extensively.
- Experience with capital equipment, packaging systems, or industrial automation.
- Strong commercial acumen and sales partnership experience.
- Experience building technical career paths and capability models.
Supports a field organization requiring frequent travel, overnight work, and occasional weekend or holiday installations. Preferred location:
Sealed Air headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
Customer equipment uptime, service quality, reduction in escalations, talent readiness, effective workforce plan, and standardized service execution.
