Position Summary
We are seeking a Winder II for our Charlotte, NC manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include winding, assembling, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting large electric motor stators for commercial HVAC systems while ensuring safe and efficient production operations.
Working ConditionsOn‑site, 5 days a week. 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Location:
Charlotte, NC manufacturing site.
- Independently perform winding, assembly, repair, and rework on a wide range of stators.
- Complete more complex winding and connection tasks within defined work scope.
- Learn and follow the proper sequence of events/actions to complete each assigned task/job.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot stators during assembly and after winding.
- Verify dimensional, electrical, and workmanship requirements.
- Diagnose and correct routine‑to‑moderately complex production issues.
- Complete all required documentation for production and quality records.
- Support process improvements, waste reduction, and efficient workflow.
- Assist with equipment setup, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Train or support Apprentices, Support Technicians, and Motor Winder I employees.
- Communicate recurring technical, quality, or maintenance issues to leadership and update MDI boards as needed.
- Operate CNC machinery to cut insulation paper.
- Manufacture coils using a SAMATIC coil winding machine.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Low voltage motor winding experience required; medium voltage motor winding experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of CNC machinery preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard and moderately complex jobs.
- Strong understanding of all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules required for the position.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair preferred.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs as required by job duties.
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Hourly rate: $31.00. Compensation may vary by seniority, merit, location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
