A Snapshot of Your DayJoin our dynamic team as a Generator Rotor Winder, where you will play a crucial role in assembling copper coils onto large generator rotors. Imagine forming, brazing, and insulating these coils to create a powerful electromagnetic field essential for operation. You will fit and install composite blocking between the copper end arcs and secure wedges in the rotor body, ensuring the coils are held firmly in place.
Throughout your day, you will conduct essential safety and quality checks, meticulously filling out electronic quality control documents to maintain our high standards.
- Perform rotor winding tasks including winding, brazing, insulating, blocking, wedging, and assembling.
- Work on both new rotors and refurbishment of service rotors.
- Assist in hand skill areas with tasks such as assembly of shrunk-on components and deburring machined parts.
- Engage in continuous improvement by applying 5S methodology.
- High school degree or equivalent with 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or assembly operations, and the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
- Working knowledge of common hand tools and ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Must be able to obtain copper brazing and ultrasonic examination certifications through Siemens Energy internal certification programs.
- Must be able to obtain fork truck and crane license through Siemens Energy internal certification programs.
- Successful applicants must be able to obtain Silver Level or higher ACT® Work Keys® National Career Readiness Certificate.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests through Siemens Energy’s onsite medical team.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
- Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and any other test(s) required for the role.
