Imagine your first month

You’re onboarding to Siemens Energy methods, learning our safety and quality practices, then taking the controls on Horizontal Boring Machines, Laser Drillers, and 5-axis mills. You rotate between machining, bonding, heat treating, and manual machining. You verify critical features with advanced metrology, document results, and move confidently between setups—always guided by detailed drawings, specs, and the right tooling strategy.

Role accountabilities
  • Own safe, precise CNC operations from setup to final inspection.
  • Interpret complex drawings/blueprints and select tools/fixtures to execute required operations.
  • Lift/move materials up to 50 lbs and handle components using jib and B/C cranes and forklifts; assist crane operations.
  • Follow Siemens Energy procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
Work schedule options
  • Mon–Thurs: 5:30am–4:00pm
  • Mon–Thurs: 4:00pm–2:30am
  • Fri–Sun: 5:30am–6:00pm
  • Fri–Sun: 5:30pm–6:00am
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School diploma or GED
  • Experience:

    3+ years of CNC operations experience focused on machining; background with laser applications and coating machines preferred
  • Required Certification:
    Fork truck/crane license (active or ability to obtain immediately upon selection)
Technical strengths
  • CNC setup, operation, and safe part handling
  • QA process adherence and complex metrology
  • Blueprint reading/interpretation and strong shop math
Readiness & health standards
  • Ability to obtain an ACT® Work Keys® National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hire assessment. Siemens Energy will assist in scheduling the test upon shortlisting.
  • Able to wear a respirator and pass a Process Operator Competency Test.
  • Capable of passing standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests required for the job.
