As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting industrial electric motor components and assemblies. This position requires a high level of ownership and skill development, as you will build products from start to finish using blueprints, specifications, precision measuring tools, and quality-testing procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Complete bench assembly of electric motors and related components from start to finish.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Take ownership of the entire assembly process rather than performing one repetitive assembly-line operation.
  • Assemble, fit, align, and inspect mechanical components and subassemblies.
  • Utilize hand and power tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, drills, grinders, and other assembly tools.
  • Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify specifications.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and testing throughout the assembly process.
  • Troubleshoot and correct out-of-spec conditions discovered during testing and inspection.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and production activities.
  • Operate overhead cranes when required for material handling and component movement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with problem-solving efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members while working independently to meet production goals.
  • Follow all safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Previous experience as a mechanical assembler in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with bench assembly.
  • Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to perform precision mechanical assembly work.
  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving experience.
  • Experience identifying and correcting quality issues during assembly.
  • Industrial maintenance, maintenance technician, or repair background.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Experience with electric motors, rotating equipment, pumps, generators, or similar products.
  • Entry-level machining experience or familiarity with manual mills.
  • Interest in learning frame assembly and machining operations through long-term training and mentorship opportunities.
