Position OverviewAs an AV Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing and documenting AV systems for commercial and enterprise environments. Your work will be split between Phase Shift and Work Shift, collaborating with clients, consultants, and cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities- Design AV systems for commercial and enterprise environments, supporting all phases of the design process.
- Review system functional requirements and translate them into full‑scale shop‑level drawings—including line diagrams, rack elevations, and mounting details (AutoCAD/Revit).
- Peer review AV system designs and provide time estimates for project tasks.
- Collaborate with consultants, designers, and drafters to complete drawing packages within project timelines.
- Interface directly with clients to identify design issues and propose effective AV solutions.
- Support commissioning efforts and provide end‑user guidance as needed.
- Maintain clear communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
This is a remote position, but employee must be located within the Mid-Atlantic region for occasional attendance at client meetings.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of experience designing AV systems.
- AVIXA CTS-D certification required; candidates with equivalent experience who are actively pursuing certification will also be considered.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for AV system documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a small team.
- Experience interpreting functional requirements into technical drawings.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Hands‑on experience with AV system commissioning or direct end‑user support.
- Experience working in a consulting or integration environment with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
