Chiron is a provider of precision machining centers for milling & mill-turn, automation, turnkey, services, and retrofit.

We are a global company with our US-based operation headquartered in Charlotte, NC.The Assembly Floor Supervisor role is responsible for motivating employees to ensure work is properly performed within budget, on schedule, and that all work is performed safely. The Assembly Floor Supervisor will establish performance requirements and deadlines that comply with the company’s strategic goals and objectives. This is an in-office position based at our Charlotte, NC facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for direct supervision of the Project Assembly department personnel engaged in assembling, customizing, retrofitting, rebuilding and repairing CNC machining centers and entire manufacturing cells.
  • Supervises a variety of necessary operations during these processes including the mechanical assembly, electrical start up and set up procedures.
  • Create machine books and deliver process sheets consistently in order to maintain customer order accuracies and workflow on the production floor.
  • Work with Project Assembly Lead to plan and communicate the floor space requirements and dimensions communicated to Sales Administration for shipments.
  • Work with Director of Operations to maintain Assembly department records concerning material costs and labor hours.
  • Responsible for the Project Assembly department personnel and equipment utilization while maintaining quality and on-time delivery of highly customized products
  • Drive and promote safety at all times.
  • Maintain and oversee the Assembly project procedures as opportunities for improvement and as new technology develops.
  • Provides feedback on project status and requirements to Project Managers and other departments.
  • Prepare updated delivery schedules and identify any potential delays or issues in the project execution for the weekly production meeting.
  • Assist Project Assembly personnel and Applications personnel with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems on CNC machines with support and assistance during turnkeys and run-offs where needed.
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to ISO standards and regulations, neatly and following current installation procedures set forth by drawings, schematics, diagrams and machine specifications.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:
  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Trade school, journeyman or military certification in electronics preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of electrical/mechanical manufacturing or service experience in a CNC/PLC manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
  • Experience in the machine tool industry or other metal-cutting industry is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE and

SKILLS:
  • Excellent people leadership skills: ability to create and motivate a diverse team to operate as a cohesive unit, drive accountability, and deliver positive results to the organization on a consistent basis.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques on CNC equipment.
  • Use of precision test equipment such as a Renishaw Ballbar, Vibroport, torque wrenches, measuring gauges, etc. for performing mechanical testing on the equipment.
  • Interpret pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations and requirements..
  • Self-motivated with the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Project work flow and the use of SAP tools available to keep the department on track
