The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Manufacturing Operations team responsible for supporting daily production, improving manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with Operations, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity (SQDCP) performance. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated problem solver who enjoys working on the manufacturing floor, analyzing data, implementing improvements, and leading cross-functional projects that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
This is a second shift role.
- Provide daily engineering support to manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, process, and assembly issues impacting production.
- Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support launch and stabilization of new products, processes, and equipment.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime and process reliability.
- Identify opportunities to improve labor efficiency, throughput, quality, safety, and ergonomics.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and optimize workflow.
- Develop and implement visual management, standard work, and sustainment systems.
- Drive annual cost reduction and productivity initiatives.
- Analyze manufacturing processes, cycle times, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, layouts, and standard work.
- Participate in line balancing, labor utilization studies, and workflow improvements.
- Support implementation of manufacturing systems, automation, and digital tools.
- Develop equipment and tooling improvement plans and support capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with Carrier safety standards and OSHA requirements.
- Partner with Quality to improve FPY, reduce defects, and eliminate recurring quality escapes.
- Support PFMEA, control plan, and process validation activities.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
- Develop project plans, timelines, ROI analyses, and progress updates.
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of engineering, manufacturing, or operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with production employees, peers, and manufacturing management.
- Strong computer and system skills, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to effectively communicate, drive and execute projects, and ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to perform under stress and meet project timelines, work cooperatively, and respectfully with others, to lead others using project planning skills and documentation.
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
