American Equipment & Fabricating Corp. (AmQuip) seeks a Sewing Synthetics Fabricator to produce high-quality synthetic lifting and rigging products that support crane and heavy construction projects in Virginia Beach, VA. In this hands-on, safety-first role, you'll cut, sew, and assemble webbing and synthetic materials using industrial sewing machines and shop tools, following precise measurements, drawings, and load requirements. You'll inspect products for strength and quality, document labels and traceability, and collaborate closely with shop, field, and service teams to meet demanding project timelines while maintaining strict safety and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and sew synthetic materials for slings, rigging, and lifting products to precise specifications
  • Interpret work orders, drawings, and measurements to cut and assemble materials accurately
  • Operate industrial sewing machines, cutters, and hand tools safely and efficiently
  • Inspect finished products for quality, strength, and compliance with safety and load-rating standards
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements in a heavy-equipment environment
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and perform basic equipment care
  • Collaborate with shop, field, and service teams to meet project timelines and customer needs
  • Document production, labeling, and traceability information for fabricated products
