Job Description
Position Summary
Isometrics, Inc. is seeking skilled and detail-oriented
MIG Welders/Fabricators
to join our manufacturing team building components and assemblies for military aircraft refueling vehicles.
This position focuses primarily on the fabrication and
MIG welding of carbon steel and stainless steel components
used throughout our specialized truck-mounted refueling systems. The work involves manufacturing a variety of smaller fabricated parts and assemblies from engineering drawings, including brackets, supports, frames, enclosures, piping-related components, and other equipment used in the construction of our vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have experience with MIG welding, blueprint reading, weld symbols, fit-up, and general metal fabrication. This position is well suited for someone who takes pride in producing clean, accurate, high-quality work and enjoys building a variety of parts rather than performing the same weld repeatedly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform primarily
MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel components and assemblies
. - Fit, assemble, tack, and weld fabricated parts according to engineering drawings and manufacturing requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols.
- Fabricate a variety of parts and assemblies used in the construction of aircraft refueling vehicles.
- Maintain proper fit-up, alignment, dimensions, and overall workmanship throughout the fabrication process.
- Perform welding in multiple positions and on a variety of joint configurations.
- Use grinders, saws, drills, hand tools, power tools, and other standard metal fabrication equipment.
- Perform layout, measuring, cutting, grinding, cleaning, and material preparation as required.
- Inspect completed work for weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to applicable requirements.
- Follow established welding procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, and company quality requirements.
- Work closely with supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and other production personnel to resolve fabrication or welding issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous welding and/or metal fabrication experience required.
- Proficiency in MIG welding required.
- Experience welding carbon steel and/or stainless steel preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols.
- Strong skills in fit-up, fabrication, and dimensional control.
- Experience fabricating brackets, frames, supports, equipment components, or similar welded assemblies is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to use common welding, measuring, and fabrication tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Must be able to pass required company welding tests.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
Why Join Isometrics, Inc.?
At Isometrics, Inc., we are not just building equipment—we are manufacturing mission-critical refueling vehicles and systems that directly support United States military operations.
Meaningful Work
The components you fabricate and weld become part of specialized aircraft refueling vehicles used to support military aviation operations. Quality and workmanship matter at every stage of the manufacturing process.
Variety of Fabrication Work
This position involves building a wide range of components and assemblies rather than performing the same repetitive weld every day. Welders have the opportunity to work with different parts, materials, joint configurations, and fabrication challenges.
Skilled Manufacturing Environment
You will work from engineering drawings and specifications to produce high-quality fabricated components used in complex vehicle systems. This is an opportunity to develop and expand your welding and fabrication skills in a specialized manufacturing environment.
Career Growth
We believe in developing skilled employees. Opportunities may be available for additional training, cross-training, increased responsibility, and advancement within our manufacturing operation.
