Join Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC and help manufacture mission-critical parts for Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine, and Combustion Components — all produced in a clean, climate-controlled factory.
A day in this role
You’ll begin by reviewing build plans and blueprints, selecting tooling and work holding, and loading jobs using jib or B/C cranes and forklifts. Your shift will be spent setting up and operating advanced CNC equipment for multi-step operations, including:
Horizontal boring mills and 5-axis milling centers
Laser drilling systems
Bonding and heat-treatment processes
Occasional manual machining and precision handwork
Throughout the day, you’ll uphold Siemens procedures for safety, quality, and machine operation, perform in-process inspections with complex metrology tools, and document results per QA protocols. You’ll regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs and collaborate closely with teammates to keep production flowing.

Education:
High school diploma or GED
Experience:
3+ years in CNC operations (machining focus), including laser applications; coating machine experience preferred
Certifications:
Fork truck/crane license (current or obtained immediately upon selection)
Assessment:
Ability to obtain an ACT Work Keys National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher);
Siemens Energy assists with scheduling upon shortlisting
Technical strengths: CNC setup/operation, part loading/unloading, adherence to QA standards, complex metrology, reading intricate drawings, and solid shop math
Additional requirements:
Able to wear a respirator and pass the Process Operator Competency Test; able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests
