Product Technician / Process Engineer (Manufacturing)

Triad Area, North Carolina

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 + Benefits

Our client, a growing global manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on Product Technician / Process Engineer to lead the launch and ongoing success of a new production line focused on wrapped parts profiling. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a highly visible operation backed by long‑term customer commitments and significant investment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being on the production floor, solving problems, optimizing processes, and collaborating across departments. Rather than focusing primarily on product design, you'll become the subject matter expert for an entire manufacturing process, including equipment, materials, procedures, and operator training.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Own a new manufacturing line from implementation through continuous improvement
  • Highly visible role with direct impact on production performance and profitability
  • Work for a people-focused organization that values transparency, collaboration, and work-life balance
  • Join a diverse team representing many different nationalities with a strong emphasis on cultural awareness and employee engagement
  • Leadership philosophy centered around partnership, support, and shared success rather than micromanagement
  • Opportunity to influence processes, equipment decisions, and operational improvements
What You'll Do

As the Product Technician / Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that drive quality, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and own manufacturing processes for a new production line
  • Develop and optimize workflows, procedures, and operating methods
  • Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, material, and production issues
  • Serve as the liaison between Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams
  • Support new product and process development initiatives
  • Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and provide recommendations on investments and expenditures
  • Recommend and implement manufacturing concepts and process improvements
  • Identify equipment requirements, tooling needs, and production resource allocation
  • Coordinate tooling modifications and process revisions based on customer and product requirements
  • Create and deliver operator training programs to ensure process consistency and performance
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Conduct quality analyses and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate lessons learned and after-action reviews
  • Champion innovation and identify opportunities to improve business results
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or similar experience
  • Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
  • Hands‑on approach with a passion for solving real‑world production challenges
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Woodworking, wood products, furniture, cabinetry, millwork, or related manufacturing experience
  • Experience launching new production lines or manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of automation, process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles
  • Experience training operators and developing standardized work procedures
Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for someone who wants to become the expert on an entire manufacturing process. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable reviewing production data, working with operators on the floor, collaborating with maintenance teams, and implementing process improvements that drive measurable results.

If you enjoy seeing your work directly impact production performance, quality, and customer satisfaction, this could be the perfect opportunity.
