We are excited to offer a summer internship program that will provide hands-on experience and developmental opportunities. At SERC, we are committed to ensuring the reliability and security of the BPS through strategic partnerships with the best and brightest individuals from both the power industry and federal government. We are extending these partnerships to up and coming young professionals to create a talent pipeline and ensure a reliable power grid for years to come.
The Outreach & Training Intern will support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of outreach events, webinars, and training initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, event logistics, content organization, and instructional design support. The intern will work closely with the outreach and training team to ensure programs are well-organized, effective, and continuously improving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Outreach Support
- Support event and webinar coordination and execution, including logistics, attendee materials, registration, and post-event follow-up
- Track and document outreach metrics, including attendance and engagement data
- Organize and maintain outreach documents, materials, and website content
- Conduct research on outreach, stakeholder engagement, and webinar best practices and summarize recommendations
- Assist with planning materials, templates, and process documentation
Training Support
- Assist with training content organization and documentation
- Support instructional design activities, including reviewing materials for clarity, consistency, and usability
- Organize and maintain training files, version control, and learning documentation
- Support continuous improvement of training processes and materials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to communications, education, instructional design, organizational development, marketing, or a related field
- Knowledge of or interest in effective instructional or course development principles
- Methodical, organized, and detail-oriented; enjoys documentation and process work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
- Support outreach events, webinars, and seminars, including logistics, materials, and post-event follow-up
- Develop skills in stakeholder outreach and engagement, including outreach calendar management and tracking attendance metrics
- Organize and maintain outreach and training content, including websites, documents, and resource libraries
- Research best practices in outreach, engagement, and webinar delivery and summarize key insights
- Build foundational knowledge of instructional design and course development
This is a paid internship starting at $20 per hour, 40 hours per week for up to 12 weeks (5/18/26 – 8/7/26).
This internship is located in Charlotte, NC with a minimum of 3 days per week expected in the office. No additional benefits or stipends are associated with this internship.
