The Vice President (VP) of Philanthropy will play a meaningful role in strengthening and sustaining the Foundation for the Charlotte Jewish Community (FCJC). This position is all about relationships – connecting with individuals, families, and partners across Charlotte’s Jewish community to help grow, steward, and preserve the community’s shared legacy.

Working closely with the FCJC Executive Director, the VP will lead the Create Your Jewish Legacy (CJL) initiative and serve as the primary point of contact for our CJL partner organizations and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. The VP will guide project management efforts, celebrate and steward Book of Life members, and help bring related programs and events to life. This role will also support the identification and engagement of high-net-worth individuals who may benefit from FCJC’s services.

We’re looking for someone who is people-centered, mission driven, and comfortable working with sensitive information. The VP will take the lead in planning FCJC’s annual legacy celebration and will help share the story and impact of our work. A deep appreciation for Jewish life, culture and tradition is essential, along with a passion for strengthening and enriching our community.

Using FCJC’s donor engagement model, the VP will build and nurture relationships with both longstanding and new clients, as well as legacy donors throughout the community. This role will also support Board-driven initiatives that advance FCJC’s strategic vision and elevate our presence within Charlotte’s Jewish community. As a member of FFTC’s Philanthropic Advancement team, the VP will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization.

• Develop strong relationships with existing donors to provide donor-centered services to meet the personal philanthropic objectives of donors and their families and deepen/expand existing client relationships.
• Maintain a portfolio of assigned current fund and planned gift relationships, serving as the dedicated FCJC relationship manager to provide excellent customer service & day-to-day support, stewardship, philanthropic counsel and support for long-range charitable planning.
• Maintain prospect and existing donor information in Raiser’s Edge donor software system to help build, track and monitor prospect solicitation and cultivation.
• Work with Finance & Donor Relations team on special projects related to donor stewardship, donor servicing, operational processes, etc. to enhance client deliverables.
• Consistently and effectively communicate with key, cross-functional team members to ensure the coordination among Civic Leadership, Corporate, Nonprofit or Campaign efforts as it relates to FCJC key prospects and fund holders.
• Support FCJC’s marketing efforts by joining internal marketing committee, meeting to identify and execute strategic priorities related to key business lines.
• Special projects as assigned.

• Manage the Create Your Jewish Legacy Initiative: training community partner teams to identify, cultivate and steward prospects when seeking current and planned gifts.
• Serve as a key public face for FCJC’s Create Your Jewish Legacy Initiative.
• Assist in the further development of the Book of Life RE database to track progress of the Create Your Jewish Legacy Initiative and FCJC Planned Giving.
• Continue to direct the strategic and day-to-day responsibilities of donor stewardship in regard to the Jewish community’s planned giving portfolio by informing agencies of new gifts and maintaining a community wide database of realized gifts.
