Description:
The Neurosurgery ICU at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center supports patients recovering from complex brain and spine injuries within a leading academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. Care is delivered in collaboration with neurosurgery, neurology, nursing, and rehabilitation teams, with a strong emphasis on early mobility and functional recovery. The unit promotes evidence‑based progression of activity to improve strength, endurance, and neurological outcomes during the acute phase of care.
Exercise Physiologists play a key role in advancing safe mobility and supporting patients’ transition toward rehabilitation and recovery.
