What We Offer Registered Nurse - Cellular Therapy & Apheresis (HCT/BMT, CAR-T) Sign-On Bonus:
Up to $7,500
Schedule:
4 ten-hour shifts with flex weekend rotation every 3-4 weeks The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a clinical leader within Novant Health's Cellular Therapy and Hematopoietic Cell Transplant (HCT) Program, delivering specialized care to patients undergoing stem cell collection, CAR-T therapy, and advanced hematology/oncology treatments. The RN establishes authentic, patient-centered relationships, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and utilizes evidence-based practice to guide patients through complex and life-saving therapies.
This role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, and compassionate care delivery across the continuum of cellular therapy and transplant services. Preferred Clinical Background Oncology nursing (inpatient or outpatient) Hematology/Oncology experience Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) or Hematopoietic Cell Transplant (HCT) experience Cellular Therapy (CAR-T, stem cell collection, immunotherapy) Critical care, ICU, infusion center, or specialty procedural nursing experience (strongly preferred) What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing stem cell collection, CAR-T therapy, HCT/BMT, and hematology/oncology treatments Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams Administer chemotherapy, biologics, immunotherapies, and supportive infusions per protocol Monitor for and manage complications including CRS, infection, transplant-related toxicities, and critical care needs Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies Utilize evidence-based practice and Novant Health policies to deliver safe, high-quality care Serve as a patient advocate and clinical leader, supporting quality improvement and team collaboration What We're Looking For
Education:
4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred. BSN, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis), preferred.
Licensure/Certification :
Current NC or compact state RN license, required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, required. Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred. Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or equivalent within 6 months of hire, required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Self-starter. Organized and detail-oriented. Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Skills in patient education, teamwork and collaboration are necessary. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care. Able to work independently without close supervision.
Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):
Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies and complications, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) preferred.
