- Delivery of patient care
- Personal care (ADL) including bathing, body mechanics, nutrition, elimination, safety, special procedures, housekeeping, and participation in interdisciplinary team conferences.
- For NA I:
- Sterile dressing for wounds over 48 hours old; wound irrigation.
- Ostomy care or ostomy irrigation.
- Insertion of urinary catheter limited to replacement after nursing assessment.
- Oxygen therapy including room set‑up and monitoring of flow‑rate.
- For NA II:
- Breaking‑up and removal of fecal impaction.
- I.V. fluid‐assisted activities and monitoring.
- Nutritional activities including oral/nasogastric and gastrostomy feedings.
- Suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal).
- Tracheostomy care.
- All NA I responsibilities.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, including referrals and documentation per HPCCR guidelines.
- Documentation and professional accountability as required by HPCCR and licensure standards.
- May perform other duties as required and assist with facility cleaning per procedure.
- High School diploma preferred; technical training or certification in related field required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current listing status.
- Good standing with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (for NA I).
- Minimum 1 year of experience; experience in home care, working with terminally ill and/or geriatrics preferred.
