The Orthopedic Specialty Care Unit (OSCU) is a 39‑bed unit that cares for patients recovering from elective orthopedic procedures and traumatic orthopedic injuries in a collaborative, patient‑centered environment.

- Total Hip Replacements
- Total Knee Replacements
- Spine Surgeries

- Elective Orthopedic Procedures
- Orthopedic Trauma Cases, including fractures of the hip, ankle, arm, and leg
- Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to orthopedic patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote patient safety, comfort, mobility, and positive clinical outcomes
- Demonstrate professional judgment, accountability, and leadership in daily practice
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care
- Orthopedic or acute care nursing experience preferred but not required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required before reactivating or reinstating your license. You must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course to be considered for licensure.
- Experience:
One year of acute nursing experience required. - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
