Position Summary

Full‑time Acute Care Physiotherapist (APP) responsible for inpatient gastroenterology care at Atrium Health Pineville and University Hospitals on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Schedule & Coverage
  • Friday–Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Weekend daytime call (6 a.m.–7 p.m.) shared with one GI APP.
  • Rotational holiday coverage required.
  • Typical patient volume: 18–20 inpatient patients per day.
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults and ongoing patient management.
  • Perform percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube exchanges/placements as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with GI physicians, APP colleagues, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute care environment.
Team & Practice Environment
  • Weekend staffing model includes one GI physician and two APPs.
  • Large, established GI group with 32 physicians and 38 APPs.

Qualifications
  • Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of two years of acute care experience (no new graduates).
  • Active or eligible North Carolina licensure.
  • Strong interest in comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology care; subspecialty GI interests welcomed.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay range: $47.50 – $71.25 per hour, based on experience.
