Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool at Atrium Health Mercy (34102 Carolinas Medical Center). This full‑time night shift position requires flexible floating across all inpatient units.
Schedule:
7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 12‑hour shifts.
Pay range: $38.20–$57.30 per hour. Eligible for sign‑on bonus and relocation bonus if outside the designated distance. Benefits include comprehensive packages, paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and educational assistance.
Schedule- Full‑time nights: three 12‑hour shifts per week (7 pm–7 am).
- Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.
- Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
- Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team.
- Uphold and promote a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluate outcomes, taking action as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely per protocols.
- Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain professional development, required education, and certifications.
- Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics, respecting interdisciplinary roles.
- Delegate appropriately to RN, LPN, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- Float to other units, departments, or facilities within the service area as needed.
- Provide age‑specific care appropriate for patient populations.
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient nursing experience (6 months required outside New Grad residency).
- Completion of an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Ability to pass physical requirements and tests.
- Occasional sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist.
- Lift up to 35 lb; push/pull 30 lb; perform sliding transfer of 150 lb with assistance.
- Maintain functional speech, vision, hearing, touch; fine hand manipulation skills.
- Manoeuvre foot pedals on carts/machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions (restraint, verbal de‑escalation) if needed.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment when exposed to chemicals, blood, body fluids, or communicable disease.
- Respond quickly to changes in patient/unit conditions.
- May undergo physical ability testing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Base compensation within defined pay range.
- Shift and on‑call incentive pay.
- Premium pay, incentive pay for select positions.
