Atrium Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead two freestanding emergency department sites located just six miles apart in the Ballantyne area of south Charlotte. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong clinical leader to oversee daily operations, foster collaboration across teams, and support consistent, high‑quality emergency care across both locations.

In this role, you will lead a highly experienced RN team known for delivering exceptional patient care. The team has achieved the highest emergency department patient satisfaction scores in the Greater Charlotte market for five consecutive years. They thrive with recognition, guidance, direct communication, and leader‑supported self‑governance rather than micromanagement.

Site Overview Ballantyne ED
  • 10 beds, including triage and a trauma/resuscitation room
  • Supported by 12 RNs and one Clinical Supervisor
Providence ED
  • 12 beds, including triage and a trauma/resuscitation room, plus a 3-bed vertical care area
  • Supported by 15 RNs, one Paramedic, and one Clinical Supervisor

Combined Volume: Approximately 25,000 annual visits across both locations

As freestanding sites operating under Atrium Health Pineville Hospital, these locations offer an autonomous leadership environment. The Nurse Manager serves as the primary on‑site leader and decision‑maker, with full ownership of day‑to‑day operations, clinical quality, staffing, and team engagement. This role is an excellent fit for a resourceful, confident leader who brings sound independent judgment and strong operational leadership.

The Nurse Manager will oversee multidisciplinary teams across both sites and partner closely with Clinical Supervisors in Radiology, Respiratory, Lab, Security, and Patient Access, as well as frontline staff. This leader will help drive outcomes, promote best practices, and sustain a high‑performing team culture. Familiarity with the physical facilities and strong working relationships with Facilities Maintenance and IAS are also important to success in this role.
